Forest School
What does Forest School help you with?
It makes me happy! Connecting to nature. Being kind to nature. Getting active. Being creative. Taking notice. My mental health and well-being.
The philosophy of Forest Schools is to encourage and inspire individuals of any age through positive outdoor experiences.
At St Andrew’s, we believe Forest School provides an excellent opportunity to bring learning to life, allowing children to explore and learn in a constructive way. This inspirational process increases self-confidence, self-esteem, improves individuals’ ability to work co-operatively and counters a lack of motivation and negative attitude towards learning while offering the opportunities to take risks, learn practical skills, make choices and initiate learning for themselves.
All St Andrew’s children participate regularly in Forest School activities from EYFS through to Year 6 giving them a solid foundation for independent outdoor learning.
